Hi!
Emma, Diem’s co-founder here.
I’m excited to let you know about a super cool new feature that’s now live in the Diem app. Introducing: Diem AI Lenses.
Diem AI Lenses enable you to search with a different perspective. You can now ask questions of leading experts and some of your fave creators all via Diem. Ask them anything and your search result will feature their opinions, content from across the internet, sources they personally trust. Cool, right? Over the news few weeks, we’ll be introducing you to our Lens creators as they go live in the app. Up first: Dini Mullaji, founder of the matchmaking app, Sitch. Ask Dini about dating, sex relationships, and fuckboys!
Do you remember the first thing you ever searched on the internet?
Daniel Radcliffe's address. He is and will always be my biggest crush. I unfortunately did not find it but maybe I should ask on Diem.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The most important professional decision you ever make is who you pick as your life partner. Going to Harvard or Stanford or Mckinsey versus investment banking is all interchangeable, but your partner has the greatest impact on your career, mental health, and end of life satisfaction. (Sheryl Sandberg, 2017 at GSB View From the Top.) I promptly broke up with my boyfriend 2 hours later.
What person do you nominate to get their own Lens?
Fictional character: Samantha from Sex and the City because we all need to be reminded that we have the power, and dating is fun. Real-life person: Amal Clooney because no one has it all more than her (career, Clooney, clothes) and we need to know how.
How do you actually decide to set two people up?
The best set-ups are when there is clear alignment in values and long term goals of two people so they are moving in the same direction, and their personality traits and interests are complimentary so that you never get bored on the journey. But you have to really know the two people to have all this information (or you're getting set up by your matchmaker on Sitch - subtle plug hehe)
How do you know when something is really a dealbreaker?
People confuse icks (he chews in a weird way) with actual dealbreakers (he wants to move back to Minnesota but I will never leave New York). You should have five non-negotiables and if someone doesn't meet one of those, then it's really a reason to walk away. Everything else is fixable with the right person.
Ask Dini here or by selecting her Lens when you ask a question on the Diem app!

Did cancel culture start with witches?
I’ve become obsessed with witches in recent months. Witches and the history of gossip have been closely intertwined throughout history; groups of women who talk amongst themselves were often branded as “cults,” or worse, were quite literally killed.
